Course description

The "3D Printing for Beginners" course offers a practical introduction to the world of additive manufacturing. Participants begin with an overview of the history and significance of 3D printing in modern industry. Various processes—filament printing, powder printing, and liquid printing—are then introduced and tested on-site.

A special focus is placed on occupational safety, the digital preparation of models, and the initiation process of creating your first print. In small groups, students will implement their own projects – from the initial idea to the finished object.

• Overview of 3D printing processes and types of plastics (FDM, SLA, SLS)
• Application of different printer types , such as: 1.75mm & 3mm filament, plastic powder printing and synthetic resin
• Introduction to Materials science & materials
• Preparation of digital models with CAD & slicing software
• Operation & commissioning of Filament, powder & liquid printers
• Security measures when working with 3D printing systems
• Practical exercises & own printing projects
• Error analysis & optimization of the workflow
